DIRECTIONS OF IMPROVEMENT OF LEGAL SUPPORT FOR THE FORMATION OF SOCIAL AND VALUE NEEDS OF SERVICEMEN

The purpose of the article is to identify areas for improvement in legal support for the formation of value needs of servicemen in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations within the context of a high-intensity armed conflict. The article examines the particularities of value and motivational sphere formation in military personnel. Attention is paid to factors influencing the development of a personality's value-motivational sphere. The author argues that the role of legal provisions in shaping social and value needs of servicemen stems from the nature of military service. Compared to other professions, it implies greater demands for dedication, even up to the need to sacrifice one's life and health for the defense of the Motherland. The factors of negative impact on the moral and psychological state of military personnel are considered. The author establishes that it is possible to change the subjective attitude of a serviceman to his state of security with the help of legal means. The author defines the proposed legal framework for the formation of social and value needs of servicemen as a set of legal instruments aimed at influencing the value and motivational sphere of military conscripts and servicemen. This framework aims to strengthen their socially oriented values and motivation to serve the Motherland. Success hinges on the observance of the principle of justice in relations between a serviceman performing combat missions with a high risk to life and health, and the State. The areas for improvement of legal support for the formation of social and value needs of servicemen include: a) strengthening guarantees of a serviceman's right to life; b) improvement of the military management system to eliminate vestiges of the Soviet management system and provide commanders with the resources they need to perform their tasks; c) focusing the system of strategic communications on creating societal confidence that every case of violation of the rights of a military conscript or serviceman will be addressed.
