Abstract

The article is devoted to an axiological analysis (axiology of law) of the prerequisites of Russian military aggression, which considers Russian culture, first of all, philosophy and literature. The question of the binary structure of the Russian mentality is emphasized. First of all the result of which is the perception of one’s own community as a chosen, elitist one. Secondly, there is an aggressive attitude towards the Other, a desire to either absorb it or destroy it. In this context, the concept of “Moscow – the Third Rome” is analyzed, a claim to the messianic nature of the Russian state, church and culture, which results in the perception of other peoples and cultures as second-rate, the obligatory nature of their Russification. The image of an “extra”, “underground” person is studied, whose form of existence is humility and suffering, analytics and critical thinking are absent, the collective absorbs the personality. The axiology of violence, the right to crime, the right to blood as an existential choice are analyzed. Nihilism is considered as a characteristic national feature. It is shown that in Russian philosophy and literature freedom revives itself, turns into arbitrariness and crime, and destroys a person, because its absolutization inevitably causes violence and despotism. It is claimed that Russian culture opens a kind of «Island of Temptation». First, a person, being “weak” and “insidious”, is tempted by a miracle, mystery and authority – a comfortable life, lack of freedom and responsibility. Secondly, ideologues and the ideology of temptation arise – egocentrism, absolutization of freedom, affirmation of the value of crime are the main life principles of the “chosen”. Third, it is a cult of loneliness and destruction. The main characters of classical Russian literature destroy both themselves and the world around them, affirming only their own “I”, misanthropy and aggression.
