Abstract

The Axiology of rebellion: Albert Camus The article is devoted to the philosophical and legal analysis of the problem of value rebellion in the philosophy of A. Camus. It is emphasized that the Western European existential philosophy of the 19th and 20th centuries actualizes the conscious alienation and opposition of an individual person to the surrounding world (nature, society, God). The rebellion is considered as a human reaction to the unfair nature of the world structure and human destiny, the absurdity, the senselessness of existence. An absurd and the rebellious person is studied as a certain value system, the essential components of which are: fundamental rejection of the laws of the universe, first of all, mortal nature, priority of the individual, denial of the factor of limited freedom, absolutization of will, self-respect and loneliness. The question of the limits of freedom is emphasized. Metaphysical (an idea, a rebellion against the laws of the universe, a rejection of evil and death) and historical (the realization of an idea, the metaphysical rebellion, the transition from the stage of actual rebellion to the revolution) rebellion is compared. It is stated that the French philosopher plunges an absurd man into a contradiction. On the one hand, an abstract attitude to society and loneliness is a form of existence. In fact, it is about the type of marginal personality, which is based on rebellion and freedom. On the other hand, it is about the need to unite a person with society, with everything that exists. A. Camus asserts a single value as a comprehensive involvement. Thus, an absurd person is torn by two tendencies: the desire for connection and the awareness of its impossibility. She is consumed by absurdity, rebellion, because she cannot leave them. As perspectives for further research, the role and significance of existential philosophy for the value orientations’ formation of the modern Ukrainian society, which is in war conditions, is considered.
