Стаття присвячена дослідженню становлення та розвитку права на правду у практиці Міжамериканського суду з прав людини. Проаналізовано підходи Суду до визначення змісту цього права, його зв’язку з обов’язком держави ефективно розслідувати серйозні порушення прав людини, забезпечувати доступ до інформації та участь потерпілих і їхніх родичів у відповідних процедурах. Особливу увагу приділено формуванню індивідуального та колективного виміру права на правду, а також його ролі у подоланні безкарності, відновленні гідності жертв і забезпеченні гарантій неповторення порушень. Обґрунтовано значення встановлених Міжамериканським судом стандартів для держав, що долають наслідки збройних конфліктів.
